What Framed Art Do We Have In Our Oakland Frame Store?

We have a lot of beautifully framed art in our store. Picture framing and picture  frames is a fun profession. We have a great collection of framed art relating to our city of Oakland, California. The first offering is a large cut out map of Oakland and Berkeley, California. The cut out is done by a laser cutting computer operated machine. The entire cutout is black in color. The picture frame on the Oakland, CA cut out is unique. We floated the cut out between two pieces of glass in the picture frame. We then backed the picture frame with an off white matboard. The cut out floats to the front of the picture frame and casts a shadow onto the matboard backing.

Next we have a classic framed David Lance Goines poster of The Oakland Symphony, done in 1983. The poster floats on a matboard and is surrounded by a sage green duppioni silk matting. The picture frame moulding is of a soft gold tone.

We also have a reproduction of an artist’s rendering of Oakland, CA circa 1885. Lake Merritt sure had a different shape then. There are large tracts of undeveloped land around Lake Merritt and farms. We used a soft warm gray matting in the picture framing  and a warm toned silver frame which picks up on the warm tones of the sepia toned artist rendering.
